New Tradition?

Hopefully.
That is, watching sunday football with dad and "dads dad"
everyone involved seems to enjoy this new ritual. naia gets so excited in fact, she can't keep her shirt on.

Happy football to all!!

Naia...10 and 1/2 months

its time for a "Naia right now" update

So ... right now, Naia...

ENJOYS
going for walks
* with dad (mostly in the backpack)
* and with mom (mostly in the stroller)
* and with anyone (however)
at home or at someone else's house, crawling around the floor, picking up all tiny things present (like lint and things of similar size)
any activity involving chester, the cat, aka her brother
"collecting compliments", as i call it, from strangers in the grocery store, at restaurants, etc.

HAS STARTED
get this: Dancing!! when certain upbeat songs come on, she shakes what her mama gave her. it kindof looks like an "elvis"
waving and saying "bye bye" (more like bah bah)
giving great hugs

HAS
gotten a new tooth top left center
seemed a little happier since the heat has gone (her mama too) and begun "warming up" to her new digs
figured out what she'll be for halloween, but isn't telling anyone yet

SOMEHOW
seems to get sweeter every day.

recent stats:
29 inches
17 lbs, 10 oz

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Turning 29 was pretty exciting. let me explain.
i got to go to my first red sox game!! i cannot tell you how excited i was. i was slap happy and giddy and all that fun stuff. I even scared/freaked out/pissed off dennis eckersly. it was a perfect day, and they went ahead and won for me, which was nice.
This was the day before my birthday.

outside of fenway...

this place is pretty magical

auntie bri was awesome. thanks for such a great birthday present and a wonderful day!!

i was a LITTLE excited to be there

and then finally settled down

yep, we're doing what it looks like we're doing. the coolest place i've ever fed her =)

she was SO GOOD. this is the ninth inning when she fell asleep IN FENWAY with all the CHEERING and SCREAMING and WINNING 7-0. we walked out, back to the car and put her in her seat where we sat in beautiful game day traffic, ALL without her waking up!! We couldn't believe it =)

Then, my actual birthday....

at the BATTING CAGES!!

i think fun was had by all. (but mostly me)

and brooks is right, i do look like i'm 12 in a helmet. (nice to hear on a birthday with higher numbers)
its so nice to be home, surrounded by the people i love on my day, and oh the day(s) was(were) great! Thanks everyone so much!

someone else had a recent birthday-type day. miss naia marie is 10 months old. that event deserves its own blog though, so stay tuned for it.

then we have this picture. it has nothing to do with anyone's birthday, but isn't it the sweetest thing?! ikea parking structure, naia and her cuz, ready to go shopping... i have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Ohh Em Gee

how i've missed you all.
we have been so busy around here... we've been meeting new friends, introducing naia to old friends and family, and figuring out what to do with ourselves (sortof).
Here are some of the highlights:
[disclaimer: this isn't even the half of it. its in no way an exhaustive "list" of first meetings... ive been doing this crazy thing lately: enjoying the moment. i'm sure once the dust clears, i'll get back to taking pictures of EVERY thing ALL the time]

GREAT Grandma Jane!! what a lucky girl our Naia is!

cousin Austin!
you may notice this little lady in several of these pictures. she's naia's cousin and best friend austin and she's awesome. she also has ridculously cute teeth. if you'd like a well documented and photographed and more eloquently written report of naia's first meeting with austin (we call her "a train") you can refer to my sister erica's blog at www.littlearch.blogspot.com

mr bojangles (sister erica's dog. bo, or bo boy, for short)

Aunt Celia!!

Naia and Aunt Erica!

Brooks and his neice!

Then there was Landis...

...Henry...

...and cathy. And i figured out why they call cathy "the baby whisperer"

look at her eating!!

walking with Bri (we're calling her aunt bri)

and kritstina (...can everyone be her aunt?)

kefryn =)

uncle dan =) naia is wearing dan's celtics shirt from when he was a little fan!

Naia is the only one in the family who's figured out that she needs to pace herself. after all, partying takes a lot out of you. this is a nap after a walk with her Nana.

in short, the sign says it all =) ...is you're having trouble reading that, it says "massachusetts welcomes you"...yes, a cheese ball i am.
