You can't have it twice

So, a couple of blogs ago there is a cute video of my mom reading to Naia and her cousin, Austin. We thought this was so cute in fact, that we tried to recreate, or rather, produce episode 2 in a story time "series" for the blog. As you will see, the only one cooperating here was good old linda...
i think we'll wait until they're a little older to try a video with specific direction (like "sit", for example)
i think these are pretty funny

some things =)

"have a happy healthy everything"

thats what my grandma used to say. it covers all the bases this time of year, and i'm going to have to rely on her catchall heavily. we didn't get around to doing christmas cards. when that time period came and went, we thought, 'well, how about a new years card?' or something weird typical of us. While, in the back of my head, i'm still holding out hope that we get our act together and send out a presidents day card, it is unlikely to happen. So, for fun, pretend this blog entry came in your real mailbox, was postmarked, and gave you a paper cut while you opened it. It'll make me feel a lot better.

this was going to be on the card =)

Mary Tess said it best: this is naia with a hint of chester

new friend/cousin =)

and her new "up to something" face

this is actually new years eve. nothing too exciting for us, just how we like it. Naia is here, in her new years best, performing one of her new passions: coloring =) FUN!!
A big thank you to Santa and all his little elves for a wonderful christmas and holiday season!

and now for my new years resolution: to snail mail a real holiday card NEXT year! I make no promises =)

From our home to yours, have a happy healthy everything!!

snow days

We got our first real snow around here, and a good amount of it. enough to play in!! So thats exactly what we've been doing:

actually, i don't know if i'd call what chester did in the snow "playing". He was pensive and unsure, but gave it a good stare down, then went back inside (better than i thought)

just in the front yard

checking out this weird stuff

this is the typical "look" she's been giving us lately when we bundle her up. being encased in things isn't really her "thing" but i kept telling her we were about to do something really fun....
anyway this (above) would be the BEFORE pic

here's the "really fun" first time sledding thing

and this would be the AFTER shot. i'm calling this a success and am looking forward to our next downhill adventure

but much better then still pictures of this would be a video:

and because you know i like to let you guys have a chuckle:

whats going on

Nothing crazy to report, but then again, there is never a dull moment around here. Below is a random assortment of pictures that don't need (or rather, aren't getting) explanations, except the ones that are, or whatever.

talking tree

my new favorite look. i call it the rooster (haven't figured out WHAT to call the outift yet)

Naia's first book fair. a huge hit

so what if its december and all the real flowers are dead. we can still wear dresses and pick flowers around here.
