Happy Thanksgiving

We have so much to be grateful for this thanksgiving. peace, quiet and time are not necessarily on the list, but I didn't want the day to pass without wishing a very happy thanksgiving to all of you and yours. We're thinking of you all (and are also very grateful that you care enough about us to check in at the little blog here). tune in shortly and we'll have some pictures of BABY'S FIRST THANKSGIVING. presently, she is gearing up for the celebration, taking a much needed nap =).
Aloha!

elves dancing

so, we haven't figured out why we can't post vidoes on blogspot here, as we have some gems we'd love to show off. While we are working on it, this might be of some satisfaction. I'm copying my sister, but with her permission. i LOVE this. hope you do too!

oh yeah...

...and we had our second doc appointment today. she's passed her birth weight by an ounce. so we're at 8 lb, 11 oz 2 daysbefore her 2 week mark. everything looks good. we really tired her out today, but she's "good tired"

As i mentioned...1 week old! (almost a week ago)

i will be brief. the computer has tested my patience (which is unraveling rapidly) over the past few days. dont get me wrong though. i love the world...just not the computer.
these are pictures of the preparation/celebration of Naia's one week birthday. AND i've been meaning to wish erica and dan congratulations on 5 years of their wonderful marriage. good job guys. have fun celebrating (already did though, right?)

I almost busted my stitches laughing at linda trying to make the "blankets"

10 days old today (officially at 9 PM that is)

We are feeling a little better. i'm sleeping MORE than when i was pregnant... naia has a little personality and voices her likes and dislikes . She makes eye contact AND smiles (dont tell me its gas). She does NOT tolerate swaddling unless she is asleep and i learned, the hard way, that i can't eat broccoli until we're done nursing.
Here are some pictures!

Getting Naia's footprint.

here's the print...and me saying, "enough with the camera in my face"

getting settled

this is my new favorite picture, for today at least...

so much has happened in a week. Naia's 1 week birthday was YESTERDAY. i was actually a little sad. Heaven help me....
We have lots of pictures and lots of stories. i keep planning to sit here and write a blog to you all, catch you up, and TRY to explain this love affair we are experiencing. When I am on my way, quasi moto style to the office to do this, 20 things happen, and then its the next day. Forgive me. later i will have a clear 20 mental minutes ( ihope) and will try to use some words. until then, here is our little miracle.

me and the kids

or is this one the bodyguard? chester has been AMAZING with all this

naia's first bath

I wish she enjoyed it as much as i did

there are more pictures to come from naia's 1 week bday...i just havent had the chance to get them on the computer--i like to give you something to look forward to =).... tune in (tomorrow?...next week?)) for follow up.

Ok, so we got home on saturday around noon, but close enough.

We are so happy, and healthy, and happy to be healthy, and TIRED. i'm sorry if we've fallen behind with phone calls... you are all in our thoughts and we'll catch up when things aren't so busy.

W are absolutely IN LOVE.

I had some cute videos to put on here but they are "taking". this may be a job for daddy when he gets up. but he's getting some much deserved and earned sleep right now.
and i'm on the computer?
yes, naia is being watched by Grandma =). thank god for her!

NAIA MARIE GIBSON

Meet Naia Marie Gibson!

Brother Josh here....

I talked to Brooks last night and everything sounds like its beyond wonderful for the new Gibson family. As a father of three and one on the way, Brooks referred to me as "The Master" of all things fatherhood. I don't know about all that, but I do know the sounds of a man's voice and the feelings he has when he is getting to know his first child. Brooks most certainly has that now and it was great, emotional and ultimately wonderful to hear.

Whitney was sleeping when I called and Brooks is making sure she is getting plenty of rest. Even though most of us are so far away from them, I think we all feel so close to what is happening in their newly found world.

Beautiful baby girl....

(Brother Josh updating here)

Father and daughter getting acquainted

I hope this isn't a reaction to too many photos. This kid has spunk!

A proud mom!

She's quite amazing, isn't she?

This is the view outside of the hospital. A great setting, for a great event.

Baby Girl Gibson is Born!

This is Whitney's brother Josh updating the blog for Whitney and Brooks.

The baby girl (still waiting on a name) was born on November 5 around 9 p.m. Hawaii time. 8 lbs, 10 oz. Details are somewhat limited at the moment but the baby is healthy and mom and dad are doing great. Here is the first and only picture I have received.

More info when I have it!
