weight training in the car

I know it may seem like maui has endless activities for a fun loving family like ours, but you may be surprised at how often our "activity" is driving to a parking lot and hanging out in the car. i think the reason this day was rain. Anyway, the following is some weight training fun. and yes, that is a man in the white car reading the paper. he was there even longer than us.

we like lists around here, so

Here's a Naia News List for you:

- latest stats: 15 lbs, 10 oz and 27.5 inches (50th %ile for weight and 95 % for height) she's a tall one, lucky girl.

- we still aren't sure what her eye color is. Its mostly blue, but there is always some grey and green and sometimes some brown. i'll keep you posted

- she has insatiable energy.

- she's still teething, with no teeth to report. we're trying to be patient though.

- the whole family is enjoying, albeit a bit anxiously, the celtics in the playoffs.

- mom and daughter made it up the hill that our road is on with 15 1/2 lb naia in the front carrier. (i need to talk to her about pulling her weight around here.) Goal set, achieved, done.

- i had a GREAT first mother's day. From brooks letting me sleep in to a little clothes shopping, as I have a fashion plate daughter to keep up with. SO NICE.

- Naia still loves Chester, more than ever. he literally lets her pull out entire tufts of hair without flinching. With us on the other hand, he's still a punk.

- the road to solid foods has been a bit bumpy, so we've pulled over to the shoulder, if you will, for a bit.

- and last but not least, i know everyone already sort of knows this but we haven't officially announced it. Finally, we've actually gotten the ball rolling (giving notice for our rental and such) and its officially official (drumroll please)
WE ARE BOSTON BOUND!!
Dont know exactly when, but we are leaving our lovely island life and invading a town near most of you (or at least on the same chunk of land). While we're sad to leave (hopefully a blog on that later), we are VERY excited to go home. Home is where your famdamily is...

So, as you may infer, lots of exciting things have been going on here (an exhaustive list is not possible), and i do have pictures to document it, but its hard to keep up with this blog business... after all, having fun in maui with our sweet angel baby can keep me pretty busy...but here's a recent trip to the beach, a little before miss big shot was a big 6 mo/old.

ive been wanting to take the above picture for a while now, except i wanted it to be brooks with a beer and naia with a bottle... but since naia doesn't drink from a bottle (we're trying) i didn't have one handy =). I still think its pretty cute

i mean really

[To all our loyal readers...fyi, this is my forth "session" creating this blog. If that doesn't say love, i dont know what does!]

Happy cinco de Naia! (sortof)

NAIA IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!

I wish i had time or even the words to describe how much our lives have been blessed in the past 6 months. I can't believe how lucky I am to have this family of mine and scratch my head thinking about it everyday. But since its time to party, I'll just let you guys see how we spent the day....

we went and got a library card... Naia's mom figured 4 years was long enough to live in a place without stepping foot inside this public heavenly haven of words ...

we're considering trying out thursdays at 10 (kids stuff...)

we played on the porch with chester

and did some outside tot riding

[we saw the red sox beat the yankees, not pictured, but a nice "half-birthday" bonus]

and the cake finally got done

thats our girl, 1/2 year old!

the art critic

i think its great that naia isn't 6 months old yet (but very close), and has just attended her second gallery opening. Of course i like it because we get to dress her up =).

these first two are getting ready to go:

this is about half way through the evening taking a break and a snack in the car...

(and NO, she never sits like this really....

i forgot to actually take a picture in the gallery or with any of naia's fans... she had lots of fun though.

and, finally, home. POOPED
