Manny Ramirez joined the 500 home run club today!
Brooks thought it was "so cute" when he'd come home and Chester and I would be watching the Redsox games with my home made "500" sign (i would've taken a picture of it, but the one below is much more impressive)




Anyway, that was awesome. In other sports news, the Celtics won in game 6 against headgear hamilton and the pistons. I get to recuperate from the stress for a nice amount of time. the finals start on June 5 against the lakers. You'd think i grew up in Boston or something.

Yours truely attended a social activity last night. A friend had a birthday BBQ and I lasted a couple of hours! I'm pretty much back to being among the living =)!!

Sonny the Sunflower

Thank you very much to my loyal readers for your suggestions. After careful review and a REALLY difficult decision, I have decided to stick with Sonny.
If this was enjoyable, I have a few more plants that need names. Maybe prizes can be awarded to those that are picked. Stay tuned. (i know you're real excited).
Thank goodness the Celtics won today. that was rough. I need some tums. and what bad timing for not being able to drink wine.. =)

This is my sunflower. I grew her from a seed. I haven't figured out a name for yet. (i have names for most of my flowers). I was toying with "sonny" but I try to be a little more original than that. She's at our front door/porch and is always smiling to greet us, even on dreary, rainy days =). Any name suggestions?

Happy Saturday!  I woke up without a headache! shh, don't tell--i don't want to jinx it!  

Last night baby girl gibson was asking ever so politely (i'm raising her well) for baked goods and it sounded like a good idea to me.  Wish you were all here.  We'd share =).

Brooks is working today.  Yes, a bummer because its Saturday, but he's only working half the day.  The Celtics (and Spurs) game starts at 2 our time.  I'm not really liking the spurs...  but they are NOTHING compared to Cleveland.  I'm thrilled to be done with them.  It wasn't so much them, but Lebron James.  I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like him, but who cares.  Talk about a big baby. I was getting sick of his overly dramatic near tears moments after paper cuts and bumps to his funny bone.  Please.  Anyway,  "a lebron james team is never desperate", so i guess we don't need to feel bad. 

Anyway, the playoffs have been so stressful, my new thing is to only start watching right before or coming back from half time, to prevent stomach ulcers and more hot flashes.  Wish us luck and Go CELTICS!!

Can you believe it? I back and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. i have good reason. I was going to scan these but our scanner is taking a nap. I think they are clear enough to please.

Maybe I've been staring at this too much, but I think I see baby's first smile? Slightly? Anyway, she looks a little skinney (who cares if 5 ounces is perfect size for age), so i'll have to find some space for ice cream =)

welcome to you, and me

Hello (if anyone is out there!),

My two lovely and more organized siblings have both become blogging maniacs, and although this type of thing is going to be difficult for me to keep up with, they've inspired me to attempt having a blog myself.  I have high hopes and feel like i CAN commit to some sort of more regularly occurring communication, especially being far from all family and many friends. 

This blogging business is more exciting now because every day things are growing, like our little baby GIRL, my appetite and wasteline, and the need for photo sharing!!  (the latter will come with the next entry-- wouldn't want it to be too exciting too soon--  I need help scanning a few things and the "b"  of the news is not here right now). 

So, welcome.  I hope there is something new to read and look at tomorrow =)
