Road Trip part 2

i think we left off in rapid city in the last blog. Moving east, lets continue =)

IOWA

Iowa was pretty much our halfway point. We stayed with Josh (my brother), daina (my sis in law), and their kids, Isabella, Caroline, Drew, and Harrison, and their dog, Stella, of course, in Waukee, IA. It was so fun to hang out with them and even better to see all these cousins together for the first time.

brooks and i think the sky is tops in iowa

naia working on her stairs skills

this is us celebrating (at a gas station, and the last stop before my brother's house) that we are almost there.

i've come up with lots of new ways to entertain in the car

with cousins Bella and Caroline!!

josh, daina, and the kids at the farmers market

these next few are from the zoo (AWESOME) and are pretty self explanatory:

BADLANDS, SOUTH DAKOTA
this was really cool

our lion king moment...

not bad for 5 minutes off the highway

THE CORN PALACE, IN MITCHELL, S.D.
we were really excited about this... i think we may have built it up a little too much, but definitely worth stopping for, and anything that gets naia out of the car is good in her book =)

some of the outside of this arena was covered with corn, for their theme "america's destinations" you may notice one of OUR destinations, mt rusmore, up there. they have a lot of corn around there...

the next few pictures are what i'm going to refer to as:
STUFF AFTER IOWA, BEFORE HOME

its a little jumbled, but i know my fans forgive =)

All the "welcome to..." signs felt like little victories. Here, Ohio. Nothing really exciting in ohio, except for this =).

sometimes its a big bath tub, but sometimes its this. Her inflatable duck bath tub, perfect for on-the-road and it even "quack quack quack quacks" . here, we're in a little town between rochester and utica, NY (forgot the name, balavia??)

the best "welcome to" sign picture i took. its WAAAY easier when youre not in a moving vehicle.

visiting a friend in springfield, iL

brooks being brooks, i have no idea where=)

and now we're home!! we have done so much here already that i feel like i'll never catch up blog-wise. But, long story short, we had a wonderful trip and wonderful welcoming home. i think one of my favorite things to do is introduce naia to people i love and who already love her so much. Its a VERY good feeling and isn't that how home should feel?

So happy you're "home".
