Aye Me

SO MUCH TO BE GRATEFUL FOR AND ITS NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING YET...

We are all healthy...and WE are about to be 3 (or 4, sorry chester)!

I could go into labor any second and i say bring it! But we officially have an end in sight. On friday morning, if the little cutie hasn't made her appearance yet, nature gets a nudge, and i get induced.

We had our weight estimate yesterday (the ultrasound to determine that was SO fun, more on that below) and "gil the US guy" said we were looking at about an 8 1/2er, give or take a pound (not so much take, more like give). Pretty large range but it means shes ready, and you know the rest of us are ready, and my doctor will be ready for an induction scheduled on nov. 7, bgg's birthday (weird to grasp that her birthday may be determined very little by nature, mostly by an on-call schedule-- whoops, what do you know, i'm already over it!).
So she said that bottom line, i'm probably going to have a c-section. She gave lots of reasons for this that all make sense (that pelvis size vs baby's head size thing was especially compelling...) I know i said its not a big deal but the word "probably" leaves something to the imagination. She gave me the choice, so i am going to "go for" your standard delivery and see if my body surprises all of us. Not trying to be a hero though so if she wants to "scrub in", i'm prepared for that. My bottom line, BGG's bottom, out, for us to have and hold. =).
So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Despite what everyone tells you when you're uncomfortable and miserable, you start to think things like...'wow, what if i break the record for longest human gestational period," 'can someone DIE from belly button explosion?'...'would they forget about me if i dont go into labor on my own and just let bgg start preschool like this?' I know none of these make sense to you guys reading, probably, but i have to admit, i've have thoughts like these...until yesterday!!
the light at the end of the tunnel is visible and getting pretty bright pretty fast. theres only 3 days til the journey is over and knowing that i can get through the rest of this pile of aches and pains. and i never thought i'd be eager, excited and happily anticipating the pains of labor, but i AM!

Gil said it was really scrunched in there and that getting good pictures would be near impossible. i dont know what gil's idea of good Ultrasound pictures are, but bgg's praents are pretty much ready to slip these in the christmas cards:

looking right at you....see her? what a beauty.

She does look a BIT scrunched. we explained to her that theres any easy solution to that. We can't stop looking at these...

Oh, yeah, AND i'm really happy with the timeline ALSO because i get to vote! i kept worrrying that i might miss out, you know, being caught up in silly little tasks, but i think bgg knows how important it is for mama to cast her ballot. meanwhile, i have no other plans, so as soon as brooks and i leave our polling location at pukalani elementary this early evening, all systems TRULY are go!

Just one more thing to figure out...

So we're still name hunting. We might keep our newest ideas to ourselves until we officially know the name-- we've learned our lesson with that one =). The plan is to have a few in mind that we love, then meet the little booger and decide....

Until then, here is top banana, disguised as tigger, keeping the swing warm for bgg. EVERYONE is excited for her arrival (AND im starting to realize how weird we are with monkeys around here)

When I get there, you'll have to help me "see" the face on the ultra-sound. Oh wait! I'll be seeing the real thing :-)!
AND YES!!! A picture of the belly...gulp! C-section is my vote!
Love,
Your Happy Mom
